Animal Birth Control (ABC) Program
Humane Population Management — Because Every Life Deserves Dignity
The Animal Birth Control (ABC) Program by Rroaming Paws Foundation (RPF) is a humane and scientifically guided initiative to manage the population of community dogs and cats through sterilization, vaccination, and care.
Why ABC Matters
- Prevents uncontrolled breeding of community dogs and cats.
- Reduces the number of abandoned, injured, and sick animals on the streets.
- Helps prevent rabies and zoonotic diseases.
- Promotes harmony between humans and community animals.
Pre-Conditions
- Dogs must be at least 8 months old and weigh a minimum of 10 kg.
- Cats must be at least 6 months old.
- Deworming and 9-in-1 vaccination (for dogs) or TriCat vaccination (for cats) are highly recommended before sterilization.
Humane Protocol
All surgeries are performed by qualified veterinarians following the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules, 2023. Each animal is humanely caught, sterilized, vaccinated, ear-notched for identification, and released back to its original location after recovery.
